The Otto Loewi Research Center for Vascular Biology, Immunology and Inflammation at the Medical University of Graz was founded in 2018 and pools the competencies of four divisions. The researchers at the center are concerned with pulmonary vascular remodeling in diseases of the lung and the role of lipids in inflammatory processes and blood coagulation. Other research projects deal with the control of bodily functions and disease by the gut, the function of endothelial cells in neurodegenerative diseases and the role of immune cell subsets on body surfaces and carcinomas.
